Cocktail specialists, Mix and Match can be often be found in our spaces, running cocktail-making workshops for our members and wooing them with their flavours and expertise. They know their way around everything from a simple G&T to Margaritas and more, but today we're going for something a little more creepy...
Just in time for the spooky season, they popped in to show us how to make a Blood-Eye Mary which blends the juicy flavours of tomato with the sweet and spicy kick of sriracha. If you're a fan of the classic Bloody Mary you might gasp at the use of sriracha here but give it a go and you'll see how the sweetness balances with beautifully with tequila. Blood- Eye Mary Recipe
FOR THE BLOODY MARY MIX
100ml red wine
100ml Worcestershire sauce
3 teaspoons creamed horseradish sauce
30ml sriracha hot sauce
2 pinches salt
2 pinches pepper
(Use 30ml BM mix per drink. The above recipe serves 8.)
METHOD
Mix red wine, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, sriracha, salt & pepper. Check consistency. This can be done before your guests arrive.
FOR THE COCKTAIL
100ml tomato juice
50ml blanco tequila
30ml pre-made mix
10ml lemon juice
METHOD
Mix the tomato juice, lemon juice, pre-made mix & tequila over cubed ice then strain over fresh cubed ice. Garnish with pink pepper, fresh basil and a spooky treat.
Then simply enjoy!
